Still Growing

Our giant tree is taking some time to get done, but we hope to have it up, lit, and decorated by tonight...but we will see, no promises here this tree is massive!!!!

Funky Christmas photo shoot. This year I used red, gold, and silver for my Christmas decor, after seeing this I want to do bright, crazy, funky colors next year! My Christmas decor is not even finished and I am already planning for next year...is there something wrong with me :)

I Bit The Bullet

...Of course I did, those of you that know me know I could not only put out a few decorations, and then not stop and say, what the heck, lets put them all up! You will be happy to know that I even opted to put the monstrous tree up...It truly looks like a pine tree is growing out of the ground in our family room...CRAZY...this my friends, may take a while to finish it all up so here is a sneak peak of the Christmas craziness going on in our home.
The tree that just keeps growing...
and growing...
and growing...
and growing...we had to stop, we need to pull out the daddy mac of ladders to finish the tree. This is our project for tonight! Oh boy
We are half way there. I will be back to show you how it all came together once we are done, hopefully that will be soon!

Where did it go???

Thanksgiving came and went, and I am so bummed I forgot my camera, and apparently so did the rest of our family, so no pictures :( however the Saturday following Thanksgiving we met with some good friends to wine taste and celebrate Aubreigh's Birthday (her Birthday is not till the 2nd, but since we were all down for the holiday we decided to bump it up to this weekend) It was a blast...as it always is with some of my Besties!!!

The Ladies
In the limo off to the first winery
Ponte Winery was our fist stop, which ended up being our only stop hehehe, we just were having such a good time, and the wine selection is so good, why would we leave.
A few of me and my Fiance...because I am so thankful for him :)
This was his first time wine tasting, he's not to into wine, but he is now....WOOHOO!!! He found a few wines he really enjoyed, and we had such a wonderful time!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. There is so much to be thankful for. I am Thankful for: God & his mercy and grace, Kyle my Fiance if  you don't already know his name by now Family, Friends, Health, and the list just goes on....

To deck the halls, or not to deck the halls, that is the question???

I had planned on putting out my Christmas decorations on the 1st on November, yes, you heard me right, the 1st of  November, only because it is so much work to get it all out and put it up just to take it down so soon, and the main reason is we have a 23foot Christmas tree that takes a small army to put up, and not to mention last year I went after Christmas and found amazing deals with most stuff coming in at 80% off, so this year I planned to go all out, with one-23foot Christmas tree, three-6 foot Christmas trees,  two-3 foot Christmas trees, and a bunch of small decoration Christmas trees...insane right? Now you understand why I wanted all the decorations out on the 1st of November. Well....it is the 24 of November and I have not pulled out one Christmas decoration, and now I am debating if I pull any out at all, or plan to go big next year??? I went to the mall and saw all the Christmas stuff up and I thought to myself, I am going to go home and start my decorating...that was a week ago, and no decorations are out, I did however bring in the decorations from the garage but sadly in the corner they have stayed all neatly piled up. My poor house is so bear...
Not a Christmas decoration in site
I even bought cute Christmas decorations for my office...but they are nowhere to be seen...so sad.
after writing this I think I just need to get with it and put them up what do you think?

Movie Night

I had a Sex and the City movie night at my house. I wanted to make it fun and special for my guest. I was able to find a lot of great stuff at the Dollar Tree and 99 Cent Store, but you would never know it! Here is everything I did for the party. I hope by sharing I am able to give you some fun ideas for your next party.

Keeping with the Sex and the City persona, I wanted it to be all about friends, fun and of course high fashion. Lets start with my mini Christian Louboutin Heels that would be the toppers of my take-home-cup-cake-to- go favors. I found these mini high hells at the Dollar Tree, they are sometimes used for weddings as a wedding favor, but not for me, I had other plans. First I applied glue all over the mini heel.
Next I added the multi-colored glitter since those are the Louboutin's I own and was replicating :)
Then I left to them to dry. After they were dry it was time to add the Louboutin signature of course... the red bottom.
They came out so cute! The real Louboutin and my Mini Louboutin
Now that the Mini Louboutin's were done, it was time to be-dazzle the spoons for the cup-cakes-to-go I be-dazzle everything it is an obsession First I applied glue to the spoon and added large size rhinestones.
I used clear spoons because I thought they went the best, but you can use any color and they will be fabulous
Next I added the ribbon to the spoon and I had ordered these key chain movie takes from Oriental Trading  if you have not checked out there site you need to I used the key chains as my name labels for each guest.
Finished Mini Louboutin's, spoons & key chain name labels
I made Oreo Cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. I used 2 cupcakes in each cup to make my take-home-cup-cake-to-go favors. I can not take the credit for the cup-cake-to-go I found it on another blog and just loved it, I just spiced it up a bit to fit my party. look how cute they came out I know, I know I need a better camera so my pictures come out better...Santa I have been a good girl...hint hint ;)
Next it was cake pop time! I had been dying to try and make the popcorn box cake pops, and what better opportunity then a movie night. My soon to be sister in law sent me the cutest popcorn cardboard boxes for my birthday that made the perfect holder for my cake pops. My fiance loves to make cake pops with me, and he is quite the cake pop maker let me tell you.
He loves Carrot Cake so I promised him the next time I made cake pops I would attempt to make them using carrot cake. I was not sure how they would come out since the cake has carrot and raisins that could get in the way and make it tricky, but it worked and with cream cheese frosting and chocolate they are squrmpshis!
Now it was time to make one of the things I am really excited to share...My Jello-Tini's. I found these little tiny cups also in the wedding section of the Dollar Tree and thought to myself  HMMM on Sex and the City they are always meeting for cocktails...and then came the Jello- Tini and I must say I am so proud of them The mini cups came in a pack of 6 for a dollar, I lined them up on a backing sheet.
Then I added lemon sugar to the rim of each cup and filled them up with diffrent flavor Jello. I made 4 diffrent Jello-Tini flavors for my party. After all the cups were rimed and filled I put them in the fridge to firm.
I bought sour patch fruits to add to the Jello-Tini's just to make them even more fabulous then they already are. Oh how I love my new creation!
I divided my island into 4 sections for my guest to enjoy. I made signs to desginate each area
  1. Sweets Buffet
 2. Ice cream Parlor
 3.Pizza Parlor
and 4. Bar. I did not take a close up picture of the sign I made but you will see it in the next pictures :)
Then it was time to set it all up...my favorite part!

I had popcorn bags and little treat boxes for my guest to fill up with all the yummy treats!
These were another take home favor for my guest diamond "Tiffany Rings" filled with candy mints.
In the Ice Cream Palor I served 3 diffrent flaovrs of ice cream, and had 12 topping options. I had 2 marble stones chilling in the frezzer just like the ice cream places so my guest could add there topping like the pros do.
The bar featured soft drinks, champagne, and of course my Jello-Tini's
My Movie night would not be complete if I did not do the outside too right....I made this sign for the front yard
What is a Movie Premier with out a red rope and red carpet
Once inside....
Personalized Hollywood stars with my guest names on them
and you got to have the 4ft movie buff
Where we enjoy the movie
Lets get this party started!!!
Everyone loved the Jello-Tini's CHEERS
All in all the Movie night was a total blast, and totally worth it! I am for hire!!!! I do all types of events, for a free consultation for your next event email me for more info at elissedelacruz@hotmail.com

On Sunday my fiance was going to have the guys over for football, and since my movie night was on Friday I told him I would set the food up for his buddies using leftovers from my movie night, and a few extra things since it is a "guys" time.
The Spread
I made Sweet potato fries and mini cheese steak sliders. I used football inspired craft paper and made cones to hold the fries...I know it is a bit fancy for guys, but what can I say I just cant help myself I love to make things look fabulous....my honey appreciated it very much
I even had a few leftover Jello-Tini's that I thought the guys might enjoy, and even though the Jello-Tini's are a little prissy, the guys really liked them and thought they were fun.
