Camping

On my birthday I posted a blog showing items my Step Mom and I had sewed. In the mix of items we swed that weekend we made 4 pillows for my trailer, well this past weekend I got to utilize the pillows in our trailer. In July, Kyle and I took a road trip down to MO to visit family, and also pick up a trailer we both fell in love with. This last weekend we used it for the very first time...We LOVE it! I did not know how to work a thing on it, but I had all the decorations packed and ready to go to make it Fabulous!!! We went camping with our dear friends, right in our own backyard at least it felt that way since it was literally a 20min drive from our house towing the trailer  We went to Lake Skinner.
Our camp site
Ours is the VR1 the one in the middle
The inside, my favorite part
Look at the zebra pillows in all their glory thanks Mom
We are going to add a small ventless fireplace under the TV, just to make it feel even more homey, I am on the hunt for the perfect one.
Our friends Brent and Holly have this great projector that they set up for us all to watch movies while we camp. It is such a great idea and so much fun for us all.
Movie Night in our camp site at Lake Skinner!
The pictures don't do it justice, but you really feel like you are at the movies!
Love Camping
Thank you Lake Skinner for being so good to us, and so close! We will be back SOON!

"SPOOKTACULAR" Dinner

Last night I had some lady friends over for a "SPOOKTACULAR" Dinner, and we had a scary good time! alright enough with Halloween theme words If you are following my blog you will remember me talking about cake pops, well I made them for the ladies as there place setting and take home treat. I thought after reading the Cakepop book and watching the You-Tube video that it would be a lot easier, but hey, this was my first time and I think I did alright. I defiantly fell I am ready to make them again and it will go a lot smoother.
All my fixings for my pops
Now off to the fun...making the Cake balls
I used butter pecan cake and cream cheese frosting...Deeeeelishious! lets not forget the yummy chocolate covering soooo sinfully good!
For my cake pops I made monsters, pumpkins, cats & sprinkles. So cute wouldn't you agree

I bought these little witch pots from the 99 Cent Store, they came in packs of 6 and were the base to my cakepops. I inserted a piece of foam to stick the pops in, then applied sticker letters to spell out my guest name. I used candy corn to cover the foam inside the pot. My guest loved them, and I did too... if I do say so myself.
Time to set the table and get this dinner started
Silly me I forgot to take pictures once the food was out, and during the rest of the night. We were just having to much fun. After everyone left and I cleaned everything, I got in my Pj's, went to the fridge and ate my cake pop for the first time...boy was it sooooooooo good.

Birthday Of Sewing

Happy Birthday to ME! I turned the BIG 28. This birthday was a relaxed, get things done kind a birthday. My Dad and Step Mom came down to spend the weekend with me and get our sew on. My Step Mom is the best! she sews all my stuff, and is going to teach me how to sew. I had a list of things I wanted to get done, and with such little time we had to prioritize. First the Halloween pillows...
Mom sewing away
 They came out so cute
Next is was on to making pillows for our trailer. We bought a trailer and are going to use it for the first time this weekend. Of course I treated it just like a home and was so excited to decorate it. I had found these perfect ottomans for it, and had been looking for some pillows to match. I could not find the right fabric for the pillows, so I bought the fabric to make them myself. and when I say myself, I really mean my mom, she gets all the credit I did no sewing, I only stuffed the pillows The fabric is an exact match and I can not wait to put the pillows in the trailer it will be Fabulous!
Ottomans in our tralier
The pillow fabric is an exact match...it pays to DIY!
4 perfect matching pillows cant wait to put them around the trailer!
Next it was on to some curtains. I had kitchen curtains to do and my bedroom curtains.
Here she goes such a hard worker
There dog Bella came too, I thought I spoil my dogs...no way Bella is the most spoiled dog in the world!
Kitchen curtains
 Bedroom curtains done & done!
Now I am on the hunt to find a curtain rod long enough since our sliders are extra large. I may just have to make one myself... Once I get a rod and hang them I will show you how they look and why it pays to DIY!!! Stay tuned...plus I still have more fabric and more pillows and things to make, but we had to take a break to celebrate my birthday.

Dear Bakerella

One day I hope I am able to meet you, but for now I  am ecstatic about your book. I found Bakerella http://www.bakerella.com/ a few months ago when I was trying to figure out what this blogging thing was all about I still am so new to blogging and am not sure what I am doing I came across a blog that was talking about cake pops...I thought to myself, what are cake pops? I clicked on the link, and felt as though I had died and gone to heaven. There before me were cake pops and they were the cutest, sweetest, things I had ever seen. I order Bakerella's cake pop book, and checked the mail box everyday, I could not wait to get it, and then it came...Oh how I love it!!! I read the whole thing the day I got it, and then text my soon to be sister in law telling her she had to check it out of course she loved it too and ordered the book as well I am having a Laddies Spooktacular Dinner at my house for some of my dear friends, I am going to cook a fabulous meal and intend to WOW them with cake pops for dessert. I have it all planed out how I am going to display them you will have to check back to see what I do MUAHHH I hope they only come out as good as they look in the book. I can not wait to make my very first cake pops. I have been stocking up on what I need. Thank you Bakerella for not only inspiring me to start a blog, but also inspiring me to bake!!!

"SPOOKTACULAR"

As promised...Halloween decorations up on the first! There are a few things I still want to do, but here is what has been done today...Enter If You Dare
Front of house

I am going to add more orange tape to the window, but I need my Honey to do it. I thought I was super woman, but man me and that staple gun just did not get along...I'll let Kyle handle it
Front porch fence F.Y.I. Kyle and I put this fence in ourselves a few months back
Front door
cant wait to see it at night with the lanterns and pumpkins lit and the skeleton glowing
Come inside but beware of all the creepy critters
The formal sitting and dinning room
Downstairs guest bathroom
Kitchen & living room
I am in the process of making drapes for the slider, but I am loving hanging this grave mural up, got to get another one and then I'll add some finishing touches don't worry I will post pictures:)
The stairs I put mice all over the house and have been scarring myself all day
Nooks & Crannies
I am not the greatest photographer, so you don't get to really see all the creepy things crawling all over my house, the pictures don't do it justice, but you get the gist of it. Hope you had a scary good time! Remember all my decorations came from the 99cent Store and Dollar Tree, and I think they all look great...it can be done! Gotta love a bargain!
