Curls, Curls And More Curls!

Last week I was asked so many times what do I do to my curls to make them look so good. I decided that I would write a blog on it, and if  I am able to enlighten someone else with my curly hair regimen, and I am able to help them love their curls, as I do mine, it is worth it, because believe you me I did not always love my curls, in fact, as a child I used to pray every night that God would make my hair strait like all the other girls hair. By the time I reached high school I knew God was not going to answer my prayers, and that I better figure out what to do with my curls. I thought that in high school I had it down. I began to like my hair, but never truly love it.
This is how my hair used to be, not bad, but not great. It would take me forever to do my hair it went something like this...shower, spray in detangler, add half can of mouse, handful of gel, spray about a half can of hairspray, defuse...once it was done, it was like nobody touch it. I remember driving and always leaning forward in my seat so that the back of my hair would not rub on my seat and frizz up. By the end of the day my hair was usually a fro, and sometimes if I had plans I would have to do my hair twice in one day, because I would have to wash it every time I wanted it to look nice. But that is not the case anymore thanks to Vickie and Deva Curl. My moms best friend has curly hair and owns a gorgeous hair salon in Laguna Beach called Curls On Top My mom and I went to a hair show with her, and they were doing a demonstration for curly hair using a product called Deva Curl. We watched and then all bought the product. We all went home and tried it and then called one another to see what each one of us had thought of the product, and it was unanimous... we all hated it. Vickie then ended up going to NY meeting the creator of the product and learning all about it, when she got back she called me and told me all about it, and how we had not used it right, and that it really was a wonderful product. She asked me to be her hair model and come in and let her show me how to use the product correctly for my curl type. I admit, I was a little skeptical at first. I had finally found a regimen that was working for me, but at the same time I still did not love my curls, and really, what did I have to lose? Now, I absolutely love my curls, and have a whole new way of doing my hair, that is so much more fun and easy breezy...

Step 1. Shampoo with Deva Curl Noo-Poo
Step 2. Leave in Deva Curl One- Conditioner
Step 3. Put some Deva Curl AnGEL through my hair
Step 4. put some clips in my hair to add volume as it drys
And that is it I am done I can let my hair air dry, or use the Deva Curl defuser to help my hair dry I use the defuser or sit under my at home salon dyer, because I hate the feeling of wet hair on my back  the best part is that the more I touch my hair the better it gets, no more leaning forward in my car to avoid the frizz :) and I don't have to re-shower every time I want my hair to look good, I simply just spray in some Deva Curl Mist-er-Right and it reactivates my curls. I can go a whole week if I wanted to without having to wash my hair...it is fabulous.

  1. This is great! As a hairstylist and sister to someone with hair like yours, you are 100% right! These products are amazing! The creator of the Deva Curl products, Lorraine Massey, wrote a book called Curly Girl. It not only changed my sisters life to where she loves her curls, it changed my approach to curly clients. If you have curly hair it is a must-read :)
